Fenugreek Rice



  1.  Methi Pulav 

Ingredients 

  1. 1 cup basmati rice 
  2. 1 medium sized potato roughly chopped 
  3. 1 cup methi leaves / fenugreek leaves 
  4. 2 small sized onions roughly chopped 
  5. 1 medium sized tomato 
  6. 2 tablespoon of Ginger-Garlic-Green chilli-Cilantro Paste roughly pluse in mixie 
  7. 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  8. 3 tablespoon oil
  9. Salt as per taste 
  10. 1 tsp Red chilli powder 
  11. 1/2 tsp coriander powder 
  12. 1/2 tsp cumin powder 
  13. 1/2 garam masala powder 
  14. If you don’t have coriander or cumin powder add 1 teaspoon of chole masala + instead of garam masala add mutton masala 🤪it tastes just perfect. (Tried and tested many times) 
Method 

  1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker on medium heat
  2. Add cumin let it crackle 
  3. Now add onions and sauté on medium heat till they turn translucent 
  4. After that add ginger, garlic green chilli, coriander paste and sauté till the raw smell disappears 
  5. Now add all your spices and sauté for a min 
  6. Add tomato and little salt, cover and cook till tomatoes are mushy 
  7. Add roughly chopped methi leaves without stirring much let it cook for 5mins on low flame, keep checking in between 
  8. Once everything is well incorporated add potatoes, washed rice and enough water.. pressure cook until two whistles on medium flame..
  9. Serve hot with Raita.         
  10.
